The design
of the Notika pool includes an ingenious assembly system that combines wood
and steel. Unlike similar products currently on the market, the wood of the
pool does not support the structure nor does it sustain mechanical stress
or water pressure.
The solid
steel substructure does all the work. This tried and true material used for
over 40 years in the industry is very stable even when exposed to
significant climatic variations. Therefore, much like a bridge or a
skyscraper, it is the metallic substructure that ensures the solidity and
the resistance of the entire structure.
Consequently, the wood used in this pool has a purely aesthetic function and
is never subjected to structural tension. This unique design ensures the
solidity and the beauty of the pool for many years to come.
The Notika
pool is made from a distinctive type of wood that has been torrefied, that
is to say it has been heated to a temperature that exceeds 200 degrees C,
without requiring the use of chemicals. Unlike wood that has been chemically
treated by autoclave, torrefied wood becomes remarkably resistant to warping
and deterioration related to wear and to the elements. Therefore, the
Notika is a pool that is clearly superior to the models currently available
on the market. The torrefaction of wood makes for a beautiful and solid
pool that will stand the test of time.
Torrefied jack pine is the ideal material for pools because of its low
moisture content, its great dimensional stability and its shrinking and
swelling variation inferior to other types of wood. All of these
characteristics make this wood extremely resistant to moisture and to
climatic changes, which will avoid potential warping of the pool. In
addition, because no chemical additives are used, the torrefaction process
limits the absorption of moisture as well as the formation of fungus on the
wood in a totally ecological and natural way. Finally, the torrefaction
process gives the wood a deeper and totally homogeneous colour throughout
the full cross-section, giving the Notika an added touch of charm.
FLOATING
PANELS
The oval
pool is constructed with concealed lateral supports that are placed in the
ground on the inside of the uprights. This installation is called the Yard
Extender System (Y.E.S.), and was especially designed to obtain greater
available yard space.
With the perfect combination of material
and manufacturing processes, Vogue is able to produce a top quality liner.
For optimum results Vogue uses the highest quality vinyl available and an
automated heat sealing process with a 1/2” seam for perfect, waterproof and
ultra-durable liner welded seam every time.
All Vogue
pools are supplied with a standard 27 gauge all pattern wall and floor liner
with tile-band. Typical life expectancy of a liner is 5-7 years depending on
UV, pool temperature and chemical usage.
There are
a number of special additives in pool liner material such as pigments,
bacteriastats and fungicides. UV additives also give protection from ultra
violet light.
A Vogue
liner is manufactured in one piece and undersized to allow for a crease free
stretch fit. This stretch fit causes the liner to stand away from the pool
walls and especially near the water surface and above. It is impossible to
damage the liner in these areas without using a sharp instrument as the
liner has a stretch factor of 250%! Note. Any pool liner must be fitted in
warm weather.
