De-chlorinator
|
Chemical |
Function |
Dosing Method |
Benefits |
|
Sodium Thiosulphate |
Removes excess chlorine from your pool or spa should over
chlorination occur. |
Dilute in a bucket of warm water and distribute around the pool.
NEVER place directly into the pool or spa. |
Reduces the chlorine level quickly should over chlorination occur.
|
Chemical Name:
Sodium Thiosulphate
Description: Quickly removes excess chlorine from your pool or
spa should over chlorination occur.
Sizes Available: 1 litre, 2.5 litre, 5 litre (select below)
Dosing Instructions (Pool)
-
To view a dosing
chart for de-chlorinator please see our
De-chlorinating section below.
-
Maintain a
chlorine level between 1 and 3 ppm.
Sometimes too much chlorine gets into the pool - often by accidentally
overdosing with chlorine or after shock dosing to get rid of algae. It
is not recommended to swim in water with more than 3 parts per million
chlorine. Chlorine remover (sodium thiosulphate) will remove that
chlorine so you can swim straight away. Be careful not to overdose
chlorine remover or you will have to add lots of chlorine to remove
the chlorine remover. That is good for chemical suppliers profits but
not for your pocket....
First
carefully test the pool water to get an accurate chlorine level (see
testing for high levels of chlorine). Work out how much you need from
the chart below :

of de-chlorinator required to de-chlorinate various volumes of pool
water in grams:

Dosage Instructions
To prevent scale or stain deposit
To
Remove Scale that has been Deposited
-
As
a guide add 2 litres per 1000 litres (220 gallons)
-
Run the spa/hot tub circulation for 24 hours
-
Drain the spa/hot tub and rinse out before filling.
